SECURING

ID vault backup and recovery

Back up ID vault databases using your preferred backup method and media. If a vault database becomes corrupted, use either of the following methods to restore it.

  • (Preferred) Delete the corrupted vault database file from the file system and replace it with a recent backup copy. In this case, do not use the ID Vaults -> Manage tool or ID Vaults -> Delete tool available in the Domino® Administrator to delete the database file, as doing so removes the vault configuration.
  • Use the ID Vaults -> Delete, and ID Vaults -> Manage tools if there are multiple vault servers, to remove the ID vault databases and configuration and then re-create the vault. IDs are automatically uploaded again from clients to the vault. Changes previously made to copies of IDs in a vault that were not pushed to clients may be lost.
